A great princess with a great heart founded her own trust in order to help animals...

25 years ago I took in Amman the pictures for my first calendar at the stud farm of the royal highness Princess Alia Al Hussein of Jordan. And it is always a great pleasure to me returning here to see the beautiful horses and to meet Princess Alia again.

This time I came to visit her, it was however difficult meeting her because she had to coordinate a relief operation, because with the Princess Alia Foundation she is now taking care after abused, abandoned or mistreated animals. The accommodations for the animals not builded up yet, the first animals have already been brought to her. The whole place was surrounded by workers, vets, volunteers and also a television team came to film.

Princess Alia is an extraordinary woman with a great heart , especially for animals. She arranged for the tourist horses in Petra a shelter so that they can protect from the hot sunlight. All horses need to be inspected; only when a vet gives his approval the owner gets back his permission to carry tourists around.

She is known in whole Jordan for her initiative for animals in need.

While taking picture at her stud, I recognized a donkey that was treated on Princess Alia expenses by a vet. Then I meet all the other donkeys which were happily grazing upon the pastures of the trust.

But that is not all what´s her project is about, she wants to create a project in which children learn how  to treat animals with respect in order to give another perspective to the next generation.

The Princess Alia Foundation (PAF) was established to promote the balance, harmony and respect of all creation. One of the main goals of the foundation is to bring all stakeholders together under one banner, creating a functional and effective working group using a holistic approach to tackle the tasks ahead. The foundation will draw upon the knowledge and expertise of the partners and the true ethics and teachings of Islam, in order to implement sustainable change, establishing Jordan as a leader and role model in the field.

PAF will work towards ensuring the respect and balance of nature, using a holistic and humane approach and building upon the true ethics and teachings of Islam.

The Princess Alia Foundation (PAF) was founded by H.R.H. Princess Alia Al Hussein and is a registered non profit, non governmental organization, under the Ministry of Social Development in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Its aim is to promote the balance, harmony and respect of all Creation, using a holistic approach and bringing all stakeholders together to work as a united front.
