Für alle Liebhaber der schwarzen Perlen Frieslands  gibt es dieses Jahr eine besonderes Neuigkeit zu verkünden.  Im September 2009 wird erstmals eine Friesenfotoseminar in Zusammenhang mit einer Hollandreise stattfinden. Man kann sagen, ich konnte mich den Bitten nicht mehr entziehen. Von Donnerstag bis Sonntag werden wir in Holland in Sachen Friesenfotografie unterwegs sein, verschiedene Gestüte besuchen und Friesen vor der Kutsche und unter dem Sattel fotografieren. Auch Menschen in friesischer Tracht werden wir wahrscheinlich vor die Linse bekommen. Lasst Euch überraschen, auf alle Fälle gibt es viele schwarze Pferde mit langen Mähnen zu fotografieren.

Seit mehr als 25 Jahren bin ich immer wieder zu Gast in Ströhen und habe nicht nur viele Generationen an Pferden dort aufwachsen sehen, sondern jetzt auch die 4. Generation der Familie. Dr. Niels Ismer hat vor einigen Jahren die Zügel des Tierparks und des Gestütes in die Hand genommen. Am 21. Mai wurde das 50-jährige Jubiläum  in Ströhen angemessen gefeiert. Neben einem bunten und vielseitigen Schauprogramm, z.B. mit einer Freiheitsdressur mit Araberhengsten, gabt es zu diesem Termin auch eine Sonderauflage eines Jubiläumsposters mit Jahresübersicht - natürlich aus der Edition Boiselle.

This year, once again, our team at Edition Boiselle has worked hard to further surpass our last year's calendars in the selection of pictures as well as in the design. Because for our "25 years Edition Boiselle" calendar jubilee we wanted to do something particularly special and have therefore made some significant changes, even to our established classics. FASCINATION and FRIESIANS are thus being issued in the new larger format - and for the same price as last year. The format has been enlarged from 50x52 cm to 58x62 cm. In terms of figures this does not look so very different – but just wait until your new calendar arrives in the post.

We hope you will be able to find the right calendar to suit your taste amongst the 25 different issues we have in our collection. Over the next few weeks we shall be revealing some of the pictures inside the calendars and presenting them as a kind of slide show. Orders will be accepted as from 1st Sept. 2009 and passed on to >>Intrepid International (USA) or >>Dream team Products (UK).

For many years now I have been photographing the four-in-hand driver Chester Weber  at all high-calibre championship events. His perfection and the way he handles his horses has always impressed me immensely. So last year after completing my first photo seminar in Ocala, Florida, I found myself with a little spare time and decided to accept Chester's warm invitation to visit him. There I met Chester and Jamaica, one of the most exceptional horses in this completely under-estimated equestrian discipline. ....

Als ich im letzten Jahr über die Pferdemesse von Golega spazierte, bewunderte ich die tollen Lusitanos und Sorraias, die dort von den verschiedenen Gestüten präsentiert wurden. Am Pavillion des Gestütes von Alter blieb ich verdutzt stehen. Was war denn das? Braune Wuschelponies mit Mausöhrchen und dickem Schopf – etwa eine Isi-Kaltblutmischung? Meine Neugier war geweckt...

A Horselovers's Dream

For 5 days I submerged myself completely in a very special atmosphere here at Las Morerias in Monterrey, Mexico. I found a selection of Andalusians and Lusitanos which are amongst the most attractive in the world. In extensive grounds of dreamlike dimensions, more like a village than a stud, there are over 60 stallions which are ridden and trained. They are descended from the best bloodlines of Spanish and Portuguese breeders and are now breed with much love and great knowledge in the 10th generation. Lorena Morales, the beautiful daughter of the owner, is also manager of the stud and together we have created some magnificent pictures. With pleasant temperatures of 28 degrees during the day, blue skies and a light wind, I enjoy these summery days before returning to Germany. Here are just a few impressions – more pictures will follow next week.
